Small, Local, Family-Run Dairy F(h)arm
The faces of dairy’s victims. After being forcibly and permanently separated from their mothers shortly after birth, female calves are placed in these hutches for several months until they are old enough to be forcibly impregnated. Male calves are either sent directly to slaughterhouses or to farms that will raise them for around 4-5 months before killing them for their flesh for “veal” and their skins for leather. Dairy is not harmless.
Wishing on a rainbow... hope never came for the lonely calves in these hutches.
Almost hidden from view, a lone calf peers out of their hutch.
A calf drinks milk from a bottle instead of their mother, from whom they have been permanently separated.
